Our Programs at a Glance
The MPLOY Youth Summer Experience (MPLOY) is a locally funded initiative administered by the Memphis Office of Youth Services (MOYS) that provides City of Memphis youth ages 14 to 22 with meaningful and rewarding summer experiences for six weeks. MPLOY offers a variety of career path options according to the participants strengths and interests, including soft skills training, entry-level positions, and internships.
The Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP) is a year-round enrichment program for students with a GPA of 3.0 and above. MAP engages youth in grades 9-12 annually to assist them in their decision-making process about post-secondary life and the development of social, critical thinking, and leadership skills, while receiving a monthly stipend. Ambassadors are required to complete community service projects throughout the year to help them become more aware of their surroundings and become more involved in their community.
The “Building Out Successful Students” (B.O.S.S.) is a mentorship program with no GPA requirement for students in grades 9-12. Our objective is to focus on the total well-being of Memphis youth, encouraging them to tap into their strengths and reach their full potential. BOSS students are required to complete community service projects throughout the year to help them become more aware of their surroundings and become more involved in their community.
The I AM INCLUDED Program is a year-round development and enrichment program for youth between the ages of 14-22; grades 8-12th with specific disabilities. The vision for our program is to help students prepare for the workforce, be knowledgeable of post-secondary options, and military careers with an overall goal of them becoming productive citizens of society.
The I Am Included program embraces six different groups of Ambassadors: Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Blind and Visually Impaired, Specific Learning Disabilities and Intellectual Disorders, Autism and Down Syndrome.
The Memphis Ambassadors Apprentice Program (MAAP) is a year-round program dedicated to help our underperforming students (with low GPAs). The program serves as an educational component, under the Memphis Ambassadors Program to support 7th and 8th graders. Our mission is to raise their GPA and prioritize working on foundational skills and core concepts/standards.
The Memphis Youth City Council (MYCC) is a year-round program that provides youth in grades 9-12 the opportunity to learn about our city’s policies, procedures, and governmental operations.
