MEMPHIS, Tenn. – August 26, 2025 – Beginning on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m. and lasting approximately four weeks, northbound National Street at Bowen Avenue will be closed to accommodate roadway improvements.
Motorists who normally use National Street (travelling Northbound) between Powell Avenue and Tutwiler Avenue are advised to use an alternate route during the duration of the closure. This closure will also restrict access to Bowen Avenue between National Street and N. Highland Street. Southbound traffic on National Street will not be affected.
The signed detour routes will utilize Tutwiler Avenue, Highland Street, Powell Avenue, and National Street (Southbound).
Local traffic will have access to National Street and Bowen Avenue up to the closure. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained for local traffic throughout the construction period.
