MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 9, 2026.The City of Memphis is scheduled to begin a downtown street resurfacing project on Monday, October 12. Streets to be resurfaced include Union Avenue and Monroe Avenue between Front Street and Main Street, and Front Street between Peabody Place and Court Avenue. On-street parking will be prohibited beginning Friday, October 9 to ensure a safe and clear working area.
Access to businesses, residences, and parking garages will remain open during the course of construction, but please allow extra travel time to accommodate potential delays. The work is expected to be complete by Friday, October 23
