The Property Maintenance department plays a crucial role in supporting the Administration, various City Divisions, and other governmental organizations by delivering cost-effective and efficient services. This department is staffed by a team of trained professionals who bring expertise in several key disciplines, including Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, HVAC, and Painting.

Property Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of over 500 publicly-owned facilities and more than 400 structures. These include essential infrastructure such as Civil Defense sirens, Police and Fire drill towers, as well as notable city landmarks like Tiger Lane, golf courses, Mud Island Marina, Mall and Court Square fountains, the Zoo Carousel, and the radio tower.

The department also maintains a wide range of city assets, including 56 fire stations, 29 community centers, 17 libraries, 11 police precincts, 8 golf courses, the Memphis Botanic Garden, the Brooks Museum of Art, the Memphis Zoo, the Pink Palace Museum, Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, Memphis Animal Services, homes in the historic district, and Mud Island River Park. Through its diligent work, Property Maintenance ensures that these vital public facilities and spaces remain in excellent condition for the community.
