Planning & Zoning Committee Hearings
on Data Center Legislation
PURPOSE
The Memphis City Council’s Planning & Zoning Committee is holding a series of hearings to examine data center development in Memphis, including its potential impacts on neighborhoods, infrastructure, utilities, and the environment.
This page provides access to the hearings, presentations, and supporting materials gathered throughout the legislative process, which led to the Council’s approval of a 135-day moratorium on new data center approvals.
It will serve as a landing page for citizens to access documents, find information about future events, and access links to our meetings.
To date, these Planning & Zoning meetings have given the City Council valuable guidance via the various presentations and supporting materials we have received and reviewed throughout the legislative process.
These hearings also helped lead to the Council’s passing of a 135-day moratorium on new data center approvals.
We also hope these meetings will help inform our work as we collaborate with the Mayor and the administration to create stronger protections for residents and a responsible path forward for our community regarding data center development.
