Major convention will bring thousands of visitors and millions in economic impact to the Bluff City
Memphis, Tenn., July 8, 2025 — The City of Memphis is proud to announce that Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has officially selected Memphis as the host city for its 2029 International Conclave.
Mayor Paul Young extended a heartfelt welcome to the organization today, calling the announcement “an incredible day for Memphis and Shelby County.”
“This is more than a convention announcement,” said Mayor Young. “Choosing Memphis means you see what we see — a city and a people rising. Phi Beta Sigma’s values of brotherhood, scholarship, and service align perfectly with the momentum we’re building here.”
Founded in 1914 on the principles of community, justice, and opportunity for all, Phi Beta Sigma’s mission reflects the inclusive spirit of Memphis. The 2029 Conclave is expected to bring:

Mayor Young also expressed gratitude to Phi Beta Sigma International President Chris Rey, Harold Collins, Brandon Hill, and the entire Sigma family for selecting Memphis.
