CITY HALL ON THE GO
Have business to take care of with the City of Memphis but can’t make it to City Hall? We are coming to YOU! Join us Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Gaston Community Center from 1:30 pm- 03:30 pm. for our very first “City Hall on the Go.”
It’s a “one-stop shop” for services. Residents can take care of “to-do’s” including scheduling smoke detector installations, getting library cards, signing children up for headstart and more.
Here are the services offered by City of Memphis Division and it’s partner agencies:
Memphis Fire Department: Request a free smoke detector and installation
Memphis Police Department: Register your security cameras with Connect Memphis
Memphis Parks: Get your 901 Pass or Rec Desk membership.
- Documentation needed: One form of valid identification and two current proofs of residency. Birth certificate needed if requesting a Rec Desk membership for a child.
311: Report potholes, litter, or property violations
Memphis Public Libraries: Sign up for a Library Card
- Documentation needed: One form of valid identification
Metro Alarm: Pay False Alarm Fines and Alarm Permit Fees
- Metro Alarm will only accept credit and debit card payments
MATA: Complete MATAPlus application and Apply for a job at MATA
Housing and Community Development: Apply for Lead inspection and remediation
- Documentation needed:
Government-issued photo ID
Proof of residency (e.g., utility bill or lease)
Income documentation
Communications: Sign up for the Mayor’s weekly newsletter
Porter Leath: Sign up your child for Head Start and walk away with an acceptance letter
Schedule an initial session with the Parents as Teachers program
- Documentation needed:
Certified Birth Certificate
TN Department of Health Immunization Record with Current Physical
Proof of Residence
Proof of Income or SNAP/TANF/SSI eligibility
Parent’s ID
Register to Vote – NAACP: NAACP will be registering residents to vote.
- Documentation needed: a valid state ID or other form of Government ID
Get a Grease Trap – Public Works: Public Works will be providing free grease traps and sewer maintenance awareness.
This event is in partnership with Shelby County’s Government 101 event. Government 101 runs from 11 am- 12:30 pm and will break down how local government works, where the pain points are, and most importantly, how to get help. Register to attend Government 101 Government 101 here.
