MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Feb. 25, 2026 — To prepare for the Greenbelt Landing project, the parking lot at the north end of Mud Island is closed. The closure will allow construction crews to safely begin site preparation in advance of the groundbreaking.
Located at River Mile 738, Greenbelt Park spans approximately 102 acres of public green space along the Mississippi River.
The Greenbelt Landing Project will enhance the park’s infrastructure and amenities, including repairs to the existing boat ramp, construction of a second upstream ramp, installation of mooring anchors, ADA-compliant parking upgrades, and additional lighting for safety and accessibility.
Construction on the park is expected to begin this spring. While the parking lot is closed, visitors can park in two additional lots on Island Drive.
