MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 30, 2025 — Memphis City Beautiful today announced the official launch of its Adopt A Street Program, a new initiative inviting residents, families, businesses, schools, and community organizations to play a hands-on role in keeping Memphis clean and proud.

The program allows adopters to “claim” a street for one to two years. Each participating group agrees to host at least one cleanup per quarter, with extra cleanups encouraged. Memphis City Beautiful provides starter supplies, and larger groups can access additional tools at no cost through the Memphis City Beautiful Toolbox.

“This program builds on the spirit of Own Your Block by giving more Memphians the chance to step up, take pride, and make a difference right where they live,” said Mayor Paul Young. “When neighbors roll up their sleeves together, they’re not just cleaning a street — they’re building stronger, safer, more hopeful communities. Adopt A Street is another way for us to say yes to our neighborhoods and yes to Memphis’ future.”

“This is a simple but powerful way for anyone — from small families to major companies — to take action and be part of Memphis’ story of renewal,” said Charity Cole, Manager of Memphis City Beautiful. “Every adopted street is a visible sign of what’s possible when we work together.” Memphians ready to get involved can sign up today at memphiscitybeautiful.org/adopt-a-street, or email [email protected] for more details.
