MEMPHIS, Tenn. – August 21, 2025- In observance of Labor Day, all City of Memphis government offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025. This closure will affect solid waste collection services for the week.
For residents serviced by the City of Memphis Solid Waste Division, there will be no trash collection on Monday, September 1. Customers who normally receive service on Monday should place their garbage and recycling carts out on Tuesday, September 2, for collection. All other customers—those with Tuesday through Friday service—should place their carts out on their regular collection day.
Residents serviced by Team Waste should also note that there will be no collection on Monday, September 1, in observance of the holiday. All Team Waste collections will be delayed by one day for the entire week. Additionally, excess trash and yard waste pickup will be limited during the holiday week.
