Greg Dotson
Greg Dotson, P.E., serves as Interim City Engineer for the City of Memphis, overseeing the Engineering Division and helping advance the City’s infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
Dotson brings more than 27 years of engineering and infrastructure leadership experience spanning transportation, public works, and project delivery. Most recently, he served as State Transportation Leader for West Tennessee at Gresham Smith, where he led strategic planning, business development, and transportation initiatives throughout the region.
His career also includes leadership positions with Barge Design Solutions, Neel-Schaffer, Gannett Fleming, Parsons Transportation Group, and Gresham Smith, where he managed multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex transportation and infrastructure projects for local, state, and federal clients. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and stakeholder engagement while building strong partnerships with public agencies across the Southeast.
Dotson earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis and a Master of Christian Studies from Union University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee and several other states and has served in leadership roles with the Tennessee Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee, Leadership Memphis, and the Kiwanis Club of Memphis.
