  • The Employee Complaint form

    The HR Compliance Office evaluates and investigates complaints filed by applicants and employees who believe they are experiencing discrimination, harassment, or retaliation in City employment.

  • Civil Service form

    The HR Compliance Office responds to requests for appeal hearings through the Civil Service Commission on the grounds of termination, disciplinary demotions, and suspension.

  • Civil Service Commission Board

    The City of Memphis Government operates within the guidelines of its Civil Service Merit system as defined in the City of Memphis Charter, Article 34 Civil Service, and is in compliance with any and all state and federal laws which would supersede.
    Civil Service Commission serves as an independent reviewer of the City of Memphis disciplinary actions and is a separate process from the Division of Human Resources.

  • The City of Memphis Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Team

    Provides strategic human resources support to the division by identifying and developing tactics for continuity and advancement.
    Adds value to the division by establishing as a trusted resource and advisor to leadership through serving as expert consultants.
    Incorporates knowledge of HR and the operation to leverage meaningful relationships across the division for collaboration, information sharing, and planning.
    Acts as a vital role in positioning the division for optimal performance and customer (internal/external) satisfaction.

Workplace Safety & Compliance

The WPS&C goal is to mitigate or eliminate hazards in the workplace. It’s goal is to ensure all employees are safe by complying with the federal and state regulatory entities as well as the City of Memphis policies and procedures. The WPS&C Office of HR consists of Drug Testing, Safety & Compliance, and COVID-19 care assistance. WPS&C provides guidance through educational safety training, internal audits and safety awareness.
