The City of Memphis’ Emergency Warming Centers will open tonight, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 7:00 pm and remain open until further notice.
The Hospitality Hub operates the City of Memphis’ Emergency Warming Center during extreme cold weather, providing a place of safety and kindness for the unhoused population to shelter from dangerous conditions.
Opening Hours: Tuesday, 2/18/25 at 7:00 pm until further notice
Location: To accommodate all guests, there will be TWO locations:
— Single women and families will stay at the Hospitality Hub (590 Washington Ave) and
— Single men and couples will stay at the First Baptist Church (200 East Parkway North)
Transportation: Transportation to both locations is operated by MATA, and starting at 6:30 PM, those requests can be made by calling a dedicated line, 901-297-1680.
The Warming Center is a temporary facility for those needing respite from the cold weather and is not meant to replace the services provided by a shelter. Single men seeking overnight shelter are encouraged to seek assistance from the Memphis Union Mission at 383 Poplar Ave, 901-526-8403 (IDs and COVID vaccination card/proof of negative test required; free before 11 am, $6/night 11 am-7 pm), or MIFA, 901-529-4545.
