Lauren Farr

Lauren Farr was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy. She attended the University of Memphis and earned her Paramedic certification from Southwest Tennessee Community College. She later completed a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services Administration from Columbia Southern University. Hired by the Memphis Fire Department in 2006, she has served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Battalion Chief of Administration.

 

In this role, Chief Farr managed information technology, data analytics, operational systems, and administrative functions. She has specialized in modernizing legacy processes, implementing enterprise technology platforms, and aligning data, staffing, and compliance systems with operational priorities. Her experience includes budget oversight, policy administration, labor collaboration, and interagency coordination. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for building systems that have improved accountability, strengthened decision-making, and enhanced operational readiness across fire and EMS services.

 

She is a recipient of the Director’s Award, Medal of Merit, Kiwanis Firefighter of the Year, and the Optimist Club Award. Her service includes work as a TNTF1 member (2007–2015), Field Training Officer, Paramedic school instructor, and member of the City of Memphis COVID-19 Task Force
