Community Service Grant

The CSG(Community Service Grant) program is a competitive grant award program where non-profit agencies providing services for their local homeless population can access federal

funding, thru the City of Memphis, to assist in the reimbursement of eligible expenses related to their specific homeless program.

The CSG program are limited to public service and public facility improvement activities.

1) Public services include but are not limited to:

  • Childcare
  • Health care
  • Job training
  • Recreation programs
  • Education programs
  • Public safety services including crime prevention.
  • Services for senior citizens
  • Services for homeless persons
  • Services for persons with mental, emotional, developmental and physical disabilities
  • Drug abuse counseling and treatment.
  • Services for persons living with AIDS.

2) Public facilities are facilities owned by the government or a nonprofit organization that are operated to be open to the general public. Types of facilities include but are not limited to:

  • shelters for victims of domestic violence
  • emergency and transitional shelters that house the homeless
  • half-way houses for runaway children, drug offenders or parolees
  • group homes for unwed mothers, persons with a mental illness or developmental disabilities.
  • facilities that provide public services that are open to the general public.

Acquisition

Construction

reconstruction

rehabilitation of facilities (such as those described above)

*No type of permanent housing is allowed*

*Maintenance of a public facility is not an allowed*

All participants in the CSG program must meet eligibility requirements.
