What’s the most important lesson you learned in life?  The importance of keeping your thoughts to yourself.

What’s your favorite memory from your childhood? My close relationship with my mother and with my cousin, Minnie.

How has the world changed the most during your lifetime?  Electricity, inside plumbing, Internet, computers, and color television

What advice would you give to someone just starting their life journey? Trust and obey the Scriptures in the Bible.

What are you most grateful for? A sound mind, a reasonable amount of health, and having my mother in my life way into my adulthood.

What are some places in Memphis that no longer exist but were special to you? Number one Beale restaurant (they had delicious battered fried mushrooms

What is/was your favorite Memphis restaurant? My family and I LOVED “The Gaslight Dinner Theater” on Brooks Road. I hated when it closed!

How did your family celebrate holidays or special occasions in Memphis? Family dinners for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July. All of my kids who live out of town would come home.

What is your favorite Memphis memory? Occasionally residing with my aunt, Irene, from the age of 7 to 12. She was like a second mother to you.

What do you want people to know about you? I’ve been faithful to God, helped people in need whenever I could, and always strived to treat people the way I wanted to be treated.
