MEMPHIS, Tenn.— April 7, 2026— The City of Memphis is advising residents and visitors of upcoming traffic impacts associated with bridge demolition and construction activities coordinated with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Motorists are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted detour routes.
Beginning Tuesday, April 7 at 8:00 p.m.
The ramp from northbound I-55 to southbound SR-14 (3rd Street) will be closed. This closure will remain in place indefinitely to support ongoing construction.

Weekend Closure – I-55
From Friday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, April 13 at 5:00 a.m., all lanes of I-55 (both northbound and southbound) at Exit 7 will be fully closed for bridge demolition work.

From Monday, April 13 through Wednesday, April 15, nightly closures will occur from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., during which all lanes of SR-14 at I-55 will be closed in both directions.
