MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jan. 26, 2026 — In response to the significant winter storm affecting our area, the City of Memphis Solid Waste Division will suspend all garbage and recycling collection services on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Snow, sleet, and ice have created hazardous road conditions, making it unsafe for crews to operate collection vehicles. Solid Waste services scheduled for Monday, January 26, was also suspended due to the winter storm.
The Solid Waste Division is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as it is safe to resume service. Residents should place carts out on their regular collection day and leave them curbside until they are serviced.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to restore services as quickly and safely as possible.
For real-time updates and notifications about service changes, download the City of Memphis Curbside Collection app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
