MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jan. 28, 2026 — Due to hazardous road conditions from lingering snow and ice, the City of Memphis Solid Waste Division will suspend all garbage and recycling collection on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Collections scheduled for Monday, January 26, Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, were also suspended, and crews have not completed those routes. Safety remains our top priority, and current conditions make it unsafe for collection vehicles to operate.

The Solid Waste Division is closely monitoring conditions and will resume service as soon as it is safe to do so. Residents should place carts out on their regular collection day and leave them curbside until service is completed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore services safely and efficiently.
