MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jan. 25, 2026 — Due to the significant winter storm impacting our area, the City of Memphis Solid Waste Division will suspend garbage and recycling collection services on Monday, January 26, 2026. Snow, sleet, and ice accumulation have created hazardous conditions that prevent crews from safely operating collection vehicles.
The Solid Waste Division will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as soon as service can safely resume. Customers are asked to place carts out on their regular collection day and leave them curbside until serviced.
Please note: Because of the recent Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, some customers were already experiencing delays. We regret any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to restore services as quickly as possible.
For the latest updates and to receive notifications about service changes, download the City of Memphis Curbside Collection app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
