MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Feb. 6, 2026 The City of Memphis Solid Waste Division has resumed residential garbage and recycling collection Friday, February 6, 2026, after determining that conditions in the public right-of-way have improved enough to allow crews to safely deploy.

Collection service will resume with Friday routes for garbage and recycling. Due to the length of the recent service disruption, crews will move forward on the regular collection schedule as service continues.

While conditions have improved, some areas may still experience isolated icy spots, particularly in shaded and low-traffic locations. Crews will continue to operate with caution as service resumes.

The City’s third-party collection contractor, Team Waste, is also resuming service today and will operate on the same schedule as City Solid Waste crews.

Residents are asked to place carts at the curb on their regular collection day and leave them there until service is completed.

For residents who need an additional disposal option, the City’s convenience centers will continue operating on their regular schedule, Fridays through Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 304 Collins Street and 3207 Farrisview Boulevard.

The City of Memphis appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as Solid Waste crews work to safely restore service citywide.
