Following weather-related disruptions, the City of Memphis will resume garbage and recycling collection on Friday, February 21. Crews will proceed with caution due to lingering snow and ice conditions and low temperatures that pose a safety risk to collection crews and may cause equipment failures.
Collection will begin with Friday routes, and crews will work overtime on Friday and Saturday to restore services for all customers. Residents should anticipate potential delays, compounded by the previous President’s Day holiday schedule adjustments. The Solid Waste Division apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates residents’ patience.
Residents are requested to place their carts out on their regularly scheduled collection day and leave them until serviced. This will enable crews to efficiently collect materials once service resumes.
For detailed information on collection schedules and to receive notifications of service changes, residents are encouraged to download the City of Memphis Curbside Collection app, available for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
