MEMPHIS, Tenn., November 20, 2025 – In preparation for the upcoming winter season, the City of Memphis Public Works Division has completed a comprehensive field test of all snow and ice response equipment.
During this week’s inspection process, crews tested and calibrated every piece of equipment, including salt spreaders, brine sprayers, and safety equipment, to ensure proper functionality. This proactive approach allows the city to identify and address any maintenance needs ahead of a winter weather event, strengthening readiness and response efforts.
“The safety of our staff, residents, and the reliability of our operations are top priorities,” said Public Works Director Scott Morgan. “By thoroughly checking our equipment now, we can respond more efficiently when winter weather impacts our city.”
The City of Memphis encourages residents to stay informed about winter weather updates and preparedness resources as the season approaches.
