MEMPHIS, Tenn., January 9, 2026— City of Memphis government offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be no trash collection services on January 19 for residents serviced by City of Memphis Solid Waste Management or Team Waste.
City of Memphis trash collection customers are advised of the following schedule changes:
- Monday customers: Place carts at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20
- Wednesday–Friday customers: Collection will occur on the regularly scheduled service day
- Excess trash and yard waste services will be limited during the holiday week
Team Waste customers will experience a one-day service delay:
- Monday customers: Place carts at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20
- All other customers: Service will shift forward by one day
- Excess trash and yard waste services will be limited during the holiday week
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly.
