MEMPHIS, Tenn., November 20, 2025  – Memphis City Beautiful will host a citywide Recycling Drive on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at three community centers across the city. In recognition of America Recycles Day, the event provides residents with a convenient and responsible opportunity to dispose of hard-to-recycle household items. The initiative supports Memphis City Beautiful’s ongoing mission to reduce litter, promote sustainability, and encourage responsible waste practices in the community.

Items Accepted
Residents may drop off:

  • Paper for shredding — collected in secured, locked bins and shredded off-site by a certified document destruction provider.
  • Unused or expired prescription medications — collected by law enforcement for safe disposal.
  • Electronic devices, including:
    computers, tablets, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, phones, audio equipment, DVRs, VCRs, cameras, video-game equipment, docking stations, and other common electronics.

Items Not Accepted
Hazardous waste, paint, toner, gas cylinders, tires, and household appliances (large or small) will not be accepted.
