MEMPHIS, Tenn., Dec. 4, 2025 — The City of Memphis today announced its operational schedule for the upcoming Christmas holiday, including adjustments to solid waste collection services for residents.
City of Memphis government offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 and Thursday Dec 25, 2025, in observance of the Christmas holiday. As a result, there will be no solid waste collection services on these days for residents serviced by the City of Memphis Solid Waste Management Division.
Revised Collection Schedule for City-Serviced Residents
- Monday and Tuesday customers should place their carts curbside on Monday, December 22 for collection.
- Wednesday and Thursday customers should place their carts curbside on Tuesday, December 23 for service.
- Friday customers will be collected on Friday as usual.
- Excess trash and yard waste services will be limited during the holiday week.
Team Waste Customers
Residents serviced by Team Waste will experience a one-day delay in service:
- Thursday customers should place their carts curbside on Friday.
- Friday customers will receive service on Saturday.
All residents are reminded to have their carts at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the appropriate collection day to ensure timely service.
