MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 22, 2025 – Cities United, in partnership with local leaders and organizations, will host two pivotal events focused on building safer, healthier, and more hopeful communities through community-led public safety strategies. These events are part of the national Leading the Way Tour 2025.
EVENT #1: Roadmap Academy Bootcamp
WHEN: Wednesday, September 24, 2025

WHAT: This interactive session will provide system and community leaders with:
- An overview of Cities United’s Redefining Public Safety Framework and Roadmap to Safe and Healthy Communities.
- A collaborative SWOT analysis to identify Memphis current strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
- Training on effective community violence intervention strategies and tools.
- A practical walk-through of the Narrative Change Toolkit to support local storytelling and communication planning.
VISUALS & INTERVIEWS: City officials, youth leaders, public health and safety professionals, and community partners engaging in strategy and dialogue.
EVENT #2: Leading the Way Community Dinner

WHAT: This 2-hour networking and engagement dinner brings together residents, leaders, and organizations committed to reimagining public safety in Memphis. The event will feature:
- Youth-led discussions on what safety means in their communities.
- Table conversations exploring solutions to prevent and reduce community violence.
- Cross-sector collaboration to strengthen Memphis local public safety ecosystem.
