Mairi Albertson was appointed Chief of Staff for Mayor Paul A. Young in January 2024. She has over 25 years of experience with the City of Memphis.

Before joining the Mayor’s Office, she served as the Deputy Director of the Division of Housing and Community Development, providing oversight and alignment of programs across the Division, managing neighborhood and city-wide planning efforts, and coordinating research and resource development related to housing and community development. In that role, she recommended policies around programs and funding based on the community’s identified needs, emphasizing providing access to housing and services to the most vulnerable populations in Memphis. A significant part of her work involved understanding Memphis communities and facilitating strategic partnerships that will leverage the resources necessary to meet the community’s needs.
