Eric Keane was appointed Chief Information Officer by Mayor Paul A. Young in January 2024. Before joining the city, Keane spent 22 years at Federal Express, where his prior assignments included Senior Vice President and CIO for FedEx Express and Vice President and CIO IT Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India. Keane was responsible for building teams for all aspects of information technology.

A practical and proven information technology executive, Keane leads the transformation effort to modernize and digitalize technical systems completely. Possesses real-world experience in applying technology solutions that solve business problems and strengthen and secure networks.

 Keane’s commitment to global issues is further exemplified by his current participation on the IT Advisory Board for the World Food Programme – the world’s largest humanitarian organization focused on hunger and food security. His strategic insights and technological expertise are invaluable in addressing these critical global challenges.
