MEMPHIS, Tenn., December 16, 2025  – A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. for Place of Grace, a 10-unit apartment complex for elderly residents in the Bickford neighborhood of North Memphis.

The development was rehabilitated by CAAP Inc., a Community Housing Development Organization that partners with the city of Memphis Division of Housing and Community Development to provide affordable housing. The project received federal CHDO funding and additional support from the Memphis Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

The Community Redevelopment Agency donated the property at 1051 Seventh St., which was rehabilitated into 600-square-foot units. The Memphis Housing Authority assisted with tenant selection through its Project-Based Voucher Program, which serves individuals 55 and older earning less than 60% of the area median income.

CAAP Inc. previously developed Uptown Manor, completed in 2014, and manages additional properties in Memphis that serve elderly residents experiencing homelessness or addiction.

As many seniors in Memphis face affordable housing challenges, the opening of Place of Grace adds permanent housing for elderly residents in North Memphis.
