The University of Memphis football team kicks off its 2018 Liberty Bowl trafficseason at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium this Saturday against Mercer University. Here are some important things to remember to ensure opening weekend goes smoothly:

One of the most significant changes this year is that Hollywood Street will be one-way southbound between Union Avenue to Southern Avenue to help with the flow of traffic.

Message boards will be used and extra officers will be on hand to help with any issues. Please give yourself extra time to get to the game and park. Pedestrian crossings will be available at South Hollywood Street and Milton Avenue and Midland Avenue.

  • Purple Lot access is $20, cash only, and available through Access 10 via East Parkway South and Access 11 off Southern Avenue.
  • Fans should read the back of their parking passes for directions on how to enter the parking lots.
  • Please note that no grills are allowed in the Purple Lot and no grilling is allowed on any grass area around the stadium .

To help with safety, the Liberty Bowl’s policy requiring guests use clear bags will be in place. Guests will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package or container into the venue:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12."
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after inspection.
  • Clear bags will be available for sale at Tiger Bookstore sales locations located on Tiger Lane.
  • Other prohibited Items in Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium include umbrellas, artificial noisemakers, baby strollers, outside food and drink, camcorders, weapons, professional cameras (defined as a lens longer than 8 inches), camera cases, coolers, ice chests, bottles, banners judged to be in bad taste or bearing advertisement, flags or poles, illegal substances, beach balls, footballs, laptop computers, and laser pens.

Please note, there is no re-entry during any part of a game. All guests must have a ticket or credential at all times on game day in order to enter the building.
