WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mayor Jim Strickland spoke in-depth with a national audience today on both the momentum and challenges of Memphis, as part of his participation in the National League of Cities' 2018 State of the Cities report presentation.

Mayor Strickland was invited by the NLC along with Mayor Dan Rivera of Lawrence, Mass., to share more about the themes of his 2018 State of the City speech, which he delivered in January. The NLC analyzed 160 mayoral state of the city speeches nationwide as a way to learn more about mayoral priorities.
