Service changes, closures for Labor Day

City of Memphis offices will be closed and solid waste pickup will not run on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day.

Residents who have garbage and recycling collections by City crews or its contractor on Mondays should place their cart curbside Tuesday, September 3. Monday through Friday customers will have their collections delayed by one day that week. 

What’s closed and what’s open on Labor Day?

Closed:
• Memphis Animal Services
• Senior Centers
• Libraries
• Mallory-Neely House
• Brooks Museum
• Metal Museum
• Lichterman Nature center

Open:
• Pink Palace Museum
• Golf courses
• Tennis centers
• Memphis Botanic Garden
• Memphis Zoo

MATA will run its Sunday service route on September 2. MLGW offices will be closed for the day, but if you need to report an outage, call 544-6500

Holiday closures will not affect the Memphis Police Department and Memphis Fire Department
