Help paint the 901 blue this weekend

If you’re interested in either joining or supporting the Memphis Police Department, help “paint the 901 blue” this weekend.

From Friday, July 27, through Sunday, July 29, public safety and MPD recruitment teams will be stationed in various locations throughout Memphis spreading the word about the Best in Blue. Volunteers can pick up flyers and yard signs showing support for MPD, and prospective officers can fill out applications, interview on the spot, and talk with recruitment team members.

Friday, July 27

Community Center kick-off from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Bert Ferguson
  • Hickory Hill
  • Orange Mound
  • Whitehaven
  • City Hall

Saturday, July 28

  • Memphis Zoo entrance 
    2000 Prentiss Place
    9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

  • Oak Court Mall
    4465 Poplar Avenue
    2 p.m. – 7 p.m.

  • Wolfchase Galleria
    2760 North Germantown Parkway
    Noon – 3 p.m.

Sunday, July 29

  • Faith Baptist Church
    3755 North Germantown Road
    9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

  • South Parkway East Church of Christ
    2063 South Parkway East
    11:30 a.m. – noon

Police officer salaries start at $47,814 annually. Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, vision coverage, pension, deferred compensation, long and short term disability, and paid leave. You are eligible to retire after 25 years with MPD.
