Black Restaurant Week is back for its fourth run this year. The annual event highlights minority-owned restaurants across Memphis. Included on the menu this year: Ballhoggerz BBQ, Chef Tam’s Underground Café, The Office @ Uptown, and Slice of Soul Pizza Lounge, to name a few.

From March 3 – 9, people can enjoy two-course lunches for $15 and three-course dinners for $25 at 14 select restaurants. Six of the restaurants included this year have been open for one year or less.

Cynthia Daniels started Memphis Black Restaurant Week four years ago to showcase newer restaurants and help them gain exposure.

“Memphis Black Restaurant Week was created to bring awareness around minority-owned restaurants,” Daniels said. “To date, the community has spent $575,000 in sales during MBRW and it's still growing.”

Soulful Food Truck Sunday will close out Black Restaurant Week on March 10 from 12 – 6 p.m. The family-friendly event will feature food trucks and live music at the historic Clayborn Temple.
