The City of Memphis government offices will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024. If the City of Memphis picks up your trash, and your regular collection day is Monday, your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday. All other days are not affected. If Team Waste services you, all trash collection will run one day behind.
City Solid Waste Division crews will honor the Presidents Day holiday, resulting in most customers who have regular trash collections on Monday having their trash picked up on Tuesday. (Please see map for those Monday customers who will have service on Tuesday).
Curbside recycling carts across the city of Memphis will welcome even more recyclables beginning Thursday, June 1. Thanks to a partnership with the Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI), over 182,000 households will be able to recycle clean and empty paper cups. With this move, Memphis joins a growing trend of communities adding paper cups to their residential recycling programs.
