The City of Memphis Short Code Term of Service (TOS) Policy

Policy:

By using the City of Memphis Messaging Service (“COMMS”), you are agreeing to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
The SMS (texting) service is provided by the City of Memphis. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
Carries are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
This service is only available to residents of the United States.
By using COMMS, you consent to receive automated text messages from the City of Memphis for updates, notifications, and other related information.
This program will send text messages from COMMS. Also, it may send messages with a link to verify your phone number (verification process), fire and police shift alerts, and general updates.
You may opt out of receiving text messages from COMMS at any time by texting “STOP”.
For questions or help with COMMS text messages, you may either reply by texting “HELP” or reach out to ITD Security at 901-636-6100. For emergencies, call 911 immediately.
The City of Memphis is not responsible for any charges incurred by you as a result of using COMMS, including but not limited to message or data charges from your mobile carrier.
The City of Memphis may suspend or terminate the SMS service at any time without notice.
You agree not to use COMMS for any illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purpose, including but not limited to sending spam or unauthorized messages.
The City of Memphis may use your personal information collected through COMMS in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The City of Memphis reserves the right to modify or update these Terms of Service at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Service periodically for any changes.

By using COMMS, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the City of Memphis SMS service.
